When we awoke on Thursday morning, we had about 27.5 inches of snow on the ground (according to the news). That sounds about right.
Adrianna’s school was canceled for the day so I took a personal day from work to watch her. Not that I minded skipping out on what was sure to be a horrendous commute. Greg had shoveled the entire deck off before we went to bed the evening before, but there were several inches of fresh snow left for Adrianna to play in. She was very excited to go outside with her cups to make “ice cream” and scoop the snow up.

Another thing we did to enjoy our unexpected day off was to play “Go Fish”. It was Adrianna’s first time playing and she did pretty well. She didn’t quite grasp the importance of actually holding the cards in her hands so that I couldn’t see them. Instead, it was easier for her to spread them out on the coffee table in plain sight. As a result, I did my best to not cheat and not always ask for the ones I knew she had. She enjoyed the game and I was pleased that it reinforced her recognition of the numbers on the cards. I love when learning can be fun!
It was a great day at home. I am looking forward to being home more often. Just one more week of work!
