Dressing Up

Adrianna has entered a stage where she enjoys wearing dresses and having tea parties. She also enjoys dressing Chloe, Molly, and her various stuffed animals in dresses as well. Oftentimes, the outfits she puts together don’t match or include odd accessories, but I usually let her wear them out and about (except to school, where she has a uniform she has to wear). I need to start taking more pictures of her get-ups.

On the mornings where I don’t work and she doesn’t have school, Adrianna wakes up earlier than Greg and I do. She is good about letting us know when she is up and always asks permission to “play quietly in the loft” until we wake up. This often results in a large-scale scattering of toys, but we enjoy our sleep so it is worth it. And when we do venture forth from our room, we are often greeted by such fun displays of imaginative play.

Adrianna, Care Bear, and Teddy having a tea party. All three are wearing dresses and necklaces or leis.

Chloe and Molly aren’t exempt from being dressed up. They are so patient with her.

She also likes to make beds for her animals and the dogs. Chloe seemed to particularly like this one. I found her in it later in the day too, and I am pretty sure that she got into it by herself that time.

And here is Adrianna in a dress that once belonged to either myself or one of my sisters. (Mom, do you remember this one? How old were we when we wore it?) She is being “Princess Ariel”. She wanted me to be a princess tonight too. I was pretty exhausted after work and was reading a book, so I was told to wear a necklace and I could be “Reading Beauty” and Greg was “Prince Working” since he was still at work.

  1. haha i love the princess reading and prince working…she could write a fairy tale…”Prince working and Princess Reading are expecting another little girl and younger sister to Princess Ariel that they will call Princess Rainbow.”

  2. Yeah I remember school pics of that dress too, I need to find them and see which of my girls are wearing it 🙂
