On June 30th, we attended a Colorado Rockies Game. We splurged on nice tickets (instead of the regular nosebleed section), and it was worth it. We were only about 6 or 7 rows up from the field, not far from first base. What a view!
Though I don’t follow sports or watch them on tv, I do enjoy going to live baseball games. There’s just something about the atmosphere that is exciting. And it is fun rising to your feet and screaming with thousands of other people for your home team. Adrianna enjoyed screaming too, once she got over the initial shock of it. And at least with baseball I know and understand the rules so it makes sense to me as I watch. Football I have absolutely no clue about.
We sat right in front of Dave Dalke and his boys, so Adrianna and the boys had a good time talking to each other. Adrianna was pretty interested in the game for the first inning or two, but after that she was ready to run around and play.
Adrianna and I were even on the jumbotron! It was during one of those moments where they play music and zoom in on spectators dancing or doing goofy things. I just happened to be playing “tickle spider” with a bored Adrianna and she was dancing and squirming with glee as she stood in front of me, trying (but not too hard) to get away from my tickling spider-hands, and they chose that moment to put us on. It was pretty cool, except for the part where the screen adds 10 pounds. But this was a JUMBOtron, so it added way more than just 10 pounds. Uck. But still cool.
We had to bribe her with candy in order to get her to smile for this photo.
For some reason, Adrianna likes to look up and smile at lights. This isn’t the first time she has done this. Maybe she has movie stardom in her future and she is preparing for the paparazzi flashbulbs.
Unfortunately the Rockies did end up losing to the Padres, 15-8. They were ahead of the Padres for awhile, then tied for a couple innings, until the Padres came back in the last inning. Darn.
And this is probably one of the few posts about sports you will see on this blog. LOL.
