Adrianna got to attend a Maker Camp, where she worked on several fun projects. She used a wood-burning tool to make Greg a Father’s Day present, a 3-D pen to make glasses frames, and also used a Cameo to create her own Undertale shirt (using an Undertale font and graphic.) She’ll get to go again […]

Fowler Trail
The girls and I went hiking on Fowler Trail in Eldorado Canyon this morning. We had a lot of fun, except for the time where Bree lost her footing and slid (backwards) a few feet down a rocky area. She got pretty scraped up and cried for a long time, asking me over and over, […]
Library Field Trip
And then we spent some time at the library where one child accidentally set off a door’s emergency alarm and another one burnt her finger on a hot glue gun bad enough that we had to leave. (She’s fine but it hurts.) But the paper flower craft (made from an old book) she made is […]
Neighborhood Nestwatch
We have joined the Neighborhood Nestwatch through the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center. Today, representatives from the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies came to our house to catch birds on their targeted watch list. We caught two: a male and female pair of chickadees. The birds have now been banded both with an aluminum band with […]
Talent Show
Adrianna played an original arrangement of the Undertale song “Bonetrousle” (Original version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqzBv3FYpr0). We were glad she was still able to play with her cast! (Though she did change her song choice to this one since it was a bit less busy on the left hand than her first choice, Megalovania.) Bree’s class sang a […]
Unschooler Wannabe
One of the things I love about homeschooling is being able to encourage interest-led learning. Yet, at the same time, it is also one of the hardest things for me, too, because sometimes it means that I need to let go of MY “to-do” list to truly let them follow their interests. Many days, this […]
Thriller
Adrianna’s dance recital tonight. It was a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. In one part, her class played dancing trees and another part they were wolves, dancing to “Thriller.” She’s quite proud of her make-up and doesn’t want to wash it off.
Aquarium Field Trip
Of course, one of the highlights for Bree were the seahorses, but the girls enjoyed seeing all of the fish.
Priorities
When all three girls are playing nicely together, school can wait.
Circus 1903
Watching Circus 1903 with the girls at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Buell Theater. Awesome show so far! There have been many instances where the girls had very astonished looks on their faces. Although the contortionist made me a bit squeamish!
