Us in Seattle on the Space Needle: Then (May 2000 as newlyweds) and Now (July 2018, with our three daughters along)

Mustard
Bree did not want to eat her ham and cheese sandwich recently because *shudder* it had mustard on it. We eventually convinced her to try a bite, which she did quietly when it appeared we weren’t paying attention to her. It must have not been as bad as she’d feared, as she proceeded to surreptitiously […]
Spheres
Earlier this week, we got to visit the Amazon Go Store (it felt weird grabbing items and then just walking out!) and Greg also took us into the Amazon Spheres (https://www.seattlespheres.com/) in downtown Seattle. Such a cool place!
Alki Beach
Alki Beach at low tide. The girls were a little grossed out by all the slimy seaweed exposed during the low tide, but we saw lots of neat ocean life, including a red lion’s mane jellyfish, anemone, and lots of crabs of several types. There were a few naturalists from the aquarium that were on […]
Banana Stand
There’s always money in the banana stand. (Or free bananas courtesy of Amazon’s Community Banana Stand, anyway.) I think it’s funny that we were served by a “banista.”
Health Points
Bree asked me recently, “Mom, how many health points do we have?”
Baptism
Adrianna’s baptism at our church (The Table). We are so thankful to all of our family who drove out to share this special moment with us!
Inventing Room
Today’s field trip to the Inventing Room was super-cool, both in the figurative and the literal sense. Cheetos frozen in liquid nitrogen, along with ice cream and “exploding whipped cream” made with liquid nitrogen. Definitely not your typical dessert shop.
New Tent
We decided to practice setting up our new tent in preparation for our first tent camping trip in 14 years that is coming up next month. The girls are so excited that they even slept in the tent last night. (The tent is a little larger than I expected!)
Independent
Got to vote in my first election as an Independent. Felt pretty good! Thank you, Colorado, for making this an option for the roughly 37% of registered and active voters that previously did not have a voice in the primaries. How it works in Colorado is that you receive ballots for both the Republican and […]
