I bought Adrianna her first Barbie doll last week, at her request. The doll is actually Princess Aurora, AKA Sleeping Beauty. Adrianna has been wanting this particular doll for a couple months because her hair changes color in the water and we all know how much Adrianna likes to play with water. I like this […]

First Fan Fiction
Adrianna wrote and illustrated her first book of fan fiction tonight about…well, I am sure you can guess. Princess Peach. And Bowser. She started her book early this morning. I peeked into her room and could hear her sounding out words as she wrote. Later, she asked me to spell “Princess Peach” out loud for […]
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Adrianna earned a $50 gift card for taking a test today as a part of a core knowledge charter school study. And what did our little girl buy with her earnings? Why, the new Mario game (Super Mario Galaxy 2) for the Wii, of course! After we had played it together this afternoon, I later […]
Cooking Dinner with Little Children
Tonight (like many nights) consisted of me trying to cook dinner with two needy children underfoot. One crying for my attention, the other just full of lots of questions for me to answer. (Why is dinner time always so rough – it’s like the children really do start acting up right when it is time […]
First Pedicure
I took Adrianna for her first pedicure. I thought it would be a fun way for us girls to spend an afternoon together. She seemed to really enjoy it and giggled quite a bit when her feet were scrubbed. What about me, Mom?
The Toy Threat
Adrianna and I cleaned up the loft/playroom a little bit this afternoon in anticipation of Greg’s plan to begin installing some adjustable custom shelves into the closet. After we got the floor picked up, Adrianna flounced back into the room, eyes opened wide for emphasis, and told me in a serious voice, “Now I’d better […]
6 Month Comparison
Here is a photo comparison of myself and my two little girls, each of us at six months of age. (You can click on it for a slightly larger version.)
Legos
Both of our girls love Legos. Although perhaps for different reasons. We bought a large multi-drawer container for all of our Legos tonight. I can hear Greg downstairs playing with…Er, I mean “organizing” the Legos now.
Gracious Winners
Just listening to Adrianna loudly and proudly discuss who is winning (or not winning) with her friends as they play Mario Kart together. She is not a gracious winner when she does win. I wonder where she gets that from? ;D
Rice Krispy
On our way home from Kansas, we were stopped at a rest area west of Salina so I could feed Bree and Adrianna could run off some excess energy. Adrianna saw a couple of guys tossing a round disk and quipped, “They are throwing a rice krispy!” (Well, I suppose it RHYMES with frisbee, so […]
