Our dogs think it is their “right” to sleep in our bed with us every night. As soon as I go upstairs to bed, they hop into bed and burrow under the covers. They are especially great as foot-warmers in the wintertime.

“Mah-wy” Christmas
I am still feeling pretty down about having to cancel our Christmas plans with my family. Of course I know it was necessary due to Adrianna’s RSV, but I still cannot help but feel very disappointed. I was really looking forward to having a full house and seeing my family. It isn’t very often that […]
And Since We’ve No Place to Go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. Well, it is still snowing. The wind has died down some, but our entire backyard is one big snowdrift. Our dogs hate it, even after Greg has kindly braved the wind and snow several times today to shovel a little potty place and I put their […]
Family Names
Adrianna is fond of pointing at various family members in our little household and saying their names. She’ll say “Momma” or “Mommy” as she points to me. She’ll point at Greg and say, “Daddy.” Our cat, Petey, is “Kiki” or “Keey” (Kitty) and Molly is still “Mommee.” She has a word for Chloe too, but […]
Christmas Dee, How Lovely Are Your Branches
Adrianna loves our Christmas tree. When we came downstairs on Sunday morning (after putting the tree up on Saturday night) she excitedly pointed at the tree and loudly exclaimed, “Dee! Dee!” She then had trees on her mind and pointed out most of the trees on our route to church. She has been surprisingly good […]
More on Feeding the Dogs
If you want someone who eats whatever you put in front of him, get a dog. Toddlers, however, are a completely different story. Our dogs have never had it so good in regards to their mealtime, complements of Adrianna. Not only do they get many yummy tablescraps from Adrianna’s meals that are tossed onto the […]
Something is Missing
My parents are dog-sitting for us for a couple weeks. They took the dogs home with them yesterday, and I have been missing those sweet pups since the moment they left. Everything I do now is a little different without them. No jingling (from their collars) following me from room to room in the house. […]
Another Fun Way to Drink Your Milk
I heard happy baby laughter behind me as I tried to surf the web on Greg’s Mac this evening. I turned around to see what could be so funny, and was greeted by a view of Adrianna and our dachshund, Molly May, both covered in white droplets. Milk droplets. Adrianna had her bottle turned upside […]
Spiders, and Wasps, and Mice – Oh My!
With Spring comes many of the annoying pests that I so detest. Ick. I am not scared of bugs, but I absolutely cannot stand spiders or wasps. They both scare me. I don’t mind mice and actually find them quite cute, as long as they stay outside of our house. We have never seen a […]
Dirty Dishes and Dog Kisses
Today was a busy and productive day. The kind of day that makes me feel satisfied with all I accomplished. Vacuuming, mopping, dishes, cooking, laundry, general cleaning, dusting, weeding, and rose trimming. Whew. That is more than I have accomplished in a long time. I was unloading some clean dishes from our dishwasher. Close by […]
