Bedtime

I think we finally have a bedtime schedule worked out for Adrianna – hooray! And it even involves her sleeping in her cradle for a part of the night at least.

We put her to bed at 9’ish after a bedtime feeding and dressing her in her jammies. She sometimes goes right to sleep when I then put her in her cradle. Other times (like tonight) she will stay up and occasionally fuss, but we leave her in her cradle and just attend to her when she cries and needs comfort or her paci. Either way, it is working. I am so encouraged. She will then sleep until about midnight. This is about the time Greg and I head to bed anyways, so it works perfectly. She is usually all smiles at this waking. I will get her out, give her another feeding and a diaper change and then it is back to bed. She will then sleep until about 4:00 a.m. when she is ready for another feeding. And then she wakes up all smiles (and often accompanied by a loud fart/sploit) at about 8:00 a.m. which is when Greg needs to get up for work anyways. So even though I have to get up once in the middle of our night, it is a pretty decent schedule I think.

I have decided that I am going to now keep track of her napping and feeding schedule during the day as well. Though I intend to keep on feeding her when she wants it rather than be on a strict feeding schedule (for now), I think it would be good to have a general idea of when these times of feeding and drowsiness occur so we can try to pattern somewhat of a schedule off of that. It would also help me be able to plan my days accordingly. Then maybe I could get more stuff done around the house. Yeah, right!
