Digital Scrapbook Template – #3

This template has room for up to 8-9 pictures. If you are like me, sometimes it is hard to leave out pictures when making scrapbook pages. Even after paring down, I often find myself with quite a few pictures I want to include. So, here is a template that is for those packed-full-of-pics layouts.

Layouts Using my Templates

Okay, so I have to show everyone some layouts that others have made using my first two templates. They turned out so wonderful. It is very exciting to see these templates put to use!

And yes, I am in the pictures above. Karen is my little sis. 🙂

Thanks for sending me your pages! I enjoyed them very much. Everyone has been so encouraging with their comments too. I appreciate each and every one. And seeing my templates receive more than 200 downloads each (and counting) doesn’t hurt my ego any either. LOL.

New Web Host

Well, I did it. I switched web hosts. The old one (goDaddy) was just so bogged down that my website took forEVER to load and when I contacted their tech support, they wouldn’t do anything about it. Instead, they said the problem was with my website. Funny, since I hadn’t changed anything functionality-wise on my site when it was still on goDaddy (both prior and after to it starting to go downhill) AND it loads fine with the new web host. Hmm…

Anyways, it was a lot of work, so I am very thankful that Greg was able to help me recreate the database and keep all my posts and comments intact. The only thing that didn’t move over were the post categories. Minor details. Although since I have over 800 posts (yikes!) I don’t know when I will have the time to retroactively categorize the older ones.

I am just so excited for the instant load-time improvement I am seeing on my new host (Dreamhost)! Hooray!

I received the very sad news today that Chloe’s daughter (and Molly and Annabelle’s sister) had to be put to sleep. She hurt her back pretty badly last week and it was getting progressively worse and worse to the point where she was almost fully paralyzed and couldn’t even control her bladder. She was also in a lot of pain, so Jennifer had to make the agonizing decision for her dear, beloved puppy.

I am heartbroken. I loved this little dog from the moment she was born. I feel like I am missing a part of our extended family somehow.

Here is a picture of the three sisters, Daphne, Annabelle, and Molly, from 2003 when they were about 6 weeks old.

Digital Scrapbook Template – #2

Making my first template a few days ago was a lot of fun. Not only that, but it was a great learning experience. I learned how to make a scalloped edge and, in doing so, I had an a-ha! moment with how versatile brushes can be.

One of my favorite template designers is Andrea Gold. I just love her designs and my “Andrea Gold templates” folder is usually the first place I go when I want to use a template for a scrapbook page. I have been wondering for a long time about how she could make those cute little dotty trails between flowers/elements. Or how people could make a little “trail” for butterflies and bees. So I was way excited when I figured out how to do this! I think I will be using this technique a lot in the future, because it adds a bit of fun to the layouts.

Template Specs: 12×12 PSD, 300 PPI.

Update: This template has been moved into my Store and can be purchased for only $1.00.

Observations about our almost-three-year old:

  • She exemplifies the phrase, “Ants in her pants”
  • At night, potty training has some similarities to having a baby in that you are awoken in the middle of the night, except instead of changing a diaper you have to blearily sit for long periods of time in the bathroom while you wait for your child to pee. And sometimes they don’t pee at all, which is very frustrating.
  • She does not know what “hurry” means.
  • She’s got dawdling mastered

My First Digital Scrapbook Template

Last night I created my first digital scrapbooking template. I have been wanting to do this for a long time. I LOVE scrapbooking templates and use them often on my pages. Not only do they sometimes make it quicker to make a page, but I find that they also inspire me to get pages done, encourage me to create pages that are outside my normal designing style, or get me out of a scrappers block.

So, here it is. You can click on the image for a link to the free download. I am offering it up as a freebie as a thank-you for the many I have downloaded for free from generous scrapbooking designers over the past year.

Since this is my first foray into the scrapbook designing world, if you download, please let me know what you think! Comments are always appreciated. Also, if you make a page using this template, please shoot me an email (addy in the included TOU) as I would love to see your work and post your page on here for all to see. 🙂

The inspiration for this design is from this layout from Lizzie19.

These penguins were fascinated by some reflected light yesterday. It was a lot of fun watching them chase it.

Digital Scrapbooking

My favorite hobby is digital scrapbooking. I have been doing it for awhile now, but had yet to actually print any of my pages, other than a few trial runs on my own personal printer.

Well, I decided to take the plunge and ordered a few prints of my 12×12 pages from a site online just to see how they would turn out. At the tip of a “cousin” (well, she is niece of my mother-in-law’s cousin), I tried out (Thanks Jennifer for the referral!)

Their uploading process is also one of the better ones I have seen. I had tried to upload pictures at a different site last month and ended up giving up because it was too cumbersome. But with, not only was it very easy and intuitive, it was also user-friendly. I accidentally closed down my browser in the middle of my upload and was worried that I would have to start completely over, which would be time consuming since the file sizes are so large, but the site remembered the ones I had already uploaded so I only needed to start the upload again with the ones that hadn’t finished uploading yet. Very cool!

I got my pages back today and they turned out fantastic! I am so pleased with them. I cannot wait to order more.

And no, I am not being paid to promote the site. Although if they want to throw in a few prints on my next order, I am sure I wouldn’t mind. 🙂
