Adrianna is often telling us that she is sick. She will tell me that she has a headache, so I will ask her where it hurts. She’ll then point to her butt or her elbow or other body part. Hmmm… Or, if I tell her that sick kids need to sleep, she will tell me, “I’m better now, Mommy.”
We have a doctor kit from my childhood that she enjoys playing with. She will put the stethoscope around her neck and carry her doctor briefcase over to me and tell me, “Mommy, say ‘Hi, Doctor Adrianna.'” Then she will take my temperature, use the stethoscope to listen to my heart, check my ears and throat, and also take my pulse.
She also loves medicine. So much that it scares me a little and I am extra careful to keep them out of her reach. When I do have to give her medicine, after confirming that she is indeed in need of it, she will tell me, “Thank you for feeling me better, Mommy.”
Kendall’s niece is 3 and kept asking for medicine, the same way as Adrianna, so i think it is the nice flavor and the rare occurrence of getting it, so you can see she is not alone!
I think when she tells you she is sick, maybe she wants YOU to play being the doctor with the doctor kit.
This just had me cracking up. Korbin (now 3), has a routine every morning.. “Mommy, I not feeling so good, need to lay down and sleep”…. HOW do you get out of it, when the threat of sleeping doesn’t work.. LOL.. This is a great one Amber. 🙂
