One of Adrianna’s favorite pastimes is playing with water. These days, this involves lots of little Tupperware cups, spoons, and her teddy bears. The water is transferred from cup to cup and also is spoon fed to her bears. Today I was informed that the contents of the cups was in fact “glo-glo” (yogurt).
She placed Mister Bear into the high chair and began to feed him some of the glo-glo. She also was busy transporting little cups full of water from her water table out on our back porch back into the kitchen. In the process, many little puddles of water began to pool on the linoleum floor. Slippery floors and busy toddlers are not a good mix. After she slipped and fell a few times, I explained to her the importance of keeping the floor dry so we don’t slip and get owies. I also decided that the water should go back outside into the water table. After dumping one of the cups of water back into the water table, she gave a disappointed cry of, “Glo-glo!” It was obvious that she truly believed I was wasting perfectly good yogurt.
Ethan is very serious about his pretend play too. They are so cute at this age. I will try the water table outside. I know E would love it and they say it’s good for early math skills, teaching volume and measuring. Now if I just figure out what skills he’s mastering by pushing his toy cars all of over the house or putting them all in a perfect row, over and over again. Or hiding in the “tunel” which is under a bunch of pillows or the futon and announcing every 10 minutes that he wants to watch PB. (TV) which we of course limit to food time only. Today when I asked if he wanted to talk to daddy on the phone he said “no, Im busy. Ethan put cars in row” and last night when Javi was transferring him from my bed to his (bc he was assuim
Man Amber, what a waste of good yogurt!
