Out in the middle of a three-hour long drive in the middle of nowhere on US Highway 6 between Ely and Tonopah, Nevada, we stumbled across the Black Rock Lava Flow, a part of the Lunar Crater Volcano Field. It was so interesting to see the flow and where it ended. We would have stayed longer to explore but we were the only ones there and it was so barren and hot, with no cell service, that we were worried about getting stranded.
We enjoyed seeing many whirlwinds along this desolate stretch of highway.
