Bree and Cate are very interested in birds right now, so when I found out that Bird World was closing at the Denver Zoo on October 1, I knew we needed to make a visit there a priority before that happened.
Some of the birds had already been relocated (the girls were sad that hummingbirds were among them), but it was still good to walk through the exhibit one last time. (But forgot to take pictures – boo!)
After Bird World, the girls got to feed the lorries and lorikeets.
We also visited the outdoor aviary, bald eagles, penguins, and the flamingoes. While we saw other animals on our visit, birds were definitely the focus!
We ended our visit with lunch and soft-serve ice cream (chocolate and vanilla twist – yum!) before heading over to a nearby home for an afternoon of board games with a few people from a local homeschool group.
