Halloween 2012

Adrianna was looking forward to Halloween for weeks. She loves decorating and carving the pumpkins every year with Greg (a great father/daughter tradition) and of course, trick-or-treating for lots and lots of candy!

Carving the Pumpkin

Adrianna’s first choice for costume was Princess Daisy (from the Super Mario Brothers video games) but I couldn’t find any costume of Princess Daisy that was affordable. (The only ones I found were specially made in Etsy shops, etc, for over $100.) So, she decided to be a Southern Belle. I, for one, was glad to see her be something other than a princess, even if the costume was still very princess-like. But I loved the hoop skirt and big southern hat. To prepare her for being a Southern Belle, I showed her some clips from Gone with the Wind on Youtube and Adrianna loved their dresses as much as I do.

Halloween

Bree was a Little Ladybug (or “wee-a-bug”, as she would say) for Halloween. I was hoping that by choosing something she likes (ladybugs) that she would wear the costume without a fuss. It seemed to work. Even if I couldn’t get her to stand still for a picture.

We went to the Trunk-or-Treat at our church the Friday prior to Halloween. On Halloween, we went to another local church’s indoor Halloween event and then came back home so Adrianna could pass out candy to the neighbors from our house. She was very excited to pass out candy by herself this year.
