Every year, our homeschool options school has an elementary Christmas party at a local rec center and pool. The girls love it! First, crafts and lunch. Then, the highlight, swimming! And now we are all TIRED after swimming for two hours. Bree can now touch the bottom in the lazy river, which was very exciting […]

Every day
I think our whiteboard and our Legos get used almost every day. I love that Bree used the letter magnets to create a picture!
Gymnastics
Gymnastics party. The trampoline is always a hit.
Paper Toys
As if the kids did not have enough toys, now they are making their own characters out of paper. (Which means lots of paper scraps scattered throughout the room.) Between their many drawings, “books” they create (papers/drawings stapled together), and these paper characters, we go through a LOT of paper! Oh, and Bree’s latest thing […]
Piano Recital 2016
The second song Adrianna is playing is one that she arranged herself from a song she heard online. I love that she sits down and plays new compositions or arrangements often. (Right now she is working on some new arrangements from the computer game UnderTale.) This was Bree’s first recital. She was nervous but she […]
Wait at the Library
Adrianna is at her stop-motion animation class and it is too far to drive back home before it will be time to pick her back up, so the little girls and I are having fun at a nearby library. We libraries.
Customizable Worksheets
I love worksheets that can be used and customized for both girls: sight words for Bree and letters for Cate. I wish every moment of our homeschool day was as peaceful as the pictures that I post seem to show. In all honesty, it isn’t always easy. Some days, there are tears. Some days, there […]
Little Medical School
Given Bree’s fascination with the human body, I thought she might enjoy a class at “Little Medical School.” I think she did enjoy it, although she told me that she does not want to be a doctor. Today, she graduated from “Little Medical School.” She gets to keep the stethoscope.
Soaring
Soaring over the mountains. And down the slide.
Letters, Patterns, and Topic Sentences
Practicing sight words (Bree) and the alphabet (Cate) is more fun with letter magnets. When I saw the pattern on the abacus this morning, I assumed that Greg had made it (because it is totally something Greg would do.) But Bree proudly told me that she had created it. I guess it comes as no […]
