Bree calls mozzarella sticks “monsterella sticks” and I just can’t bring myself to correct her because it is so dang cute.

Slobber
After I licked my thumb to wipe a dirty spot on Cate’s forehead, she said in an exasperated voice, “Mom, there’s lots of water in the house.” When I pressed her to clarify what she meant (though I was pretty sure I knew where she was going with the comment) she said, “There’s lots of […]
You’ll Be Back
You’ll Be Back (Hamilton soundtrack) as sung by Cate (age 5) We were in the car, so there is audio only.
Pants
I was reading parts of this article aloud to Greg, about how some of the astronaut’s genes have changed since his year spent in space. Bree, sitting next to me, scoots closer to look at the article on my phone and asks, “Can I see his pants?” It took us a moment to realize why […]
Daylight Savings = Grouchy Children
Anyone else have extra-whiny children today, most likely due to daylight savings time / loss of sleep? *sigh* And bedtime should be fun; “But Mom, it is still light outside!” All that said, I am glad that it will be light outside for longer, even if it makes bedtime routines more difficult!

Why did you make this?” *sigh* Apparently, I made it because I like to hear my children complain about the nice things that I make them. (I […]
Aquarium Field Trip
Today was Homeschool Day at the Denver Aquarium. Since that means discounted entrance fees + fun classes, we were happy to attend! Since we also had horseback riding later in the day, Bree excitedly told me, “Today I will get to see TWO of my favorite animals – seahorses and horses!”
Books Read in January and February 2018
I finished 5 books over January and February. I sure am thankful for audiobooks or the number would have been a lot less. The Hobbit by JRR Tolkein (a repeat read for me but first time for my 12yo) Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie Frankenstein by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley Black Horses for […]
Destination Imagination
Adrianna had her Destination Imagination competition today. DI is her favorite class and she was SO excited for today. Her team did the “Drop Zone Engineering†challenge. They had to come up with a skit that also incorporated a small structure that could stand up against weights being dropped on it. Her team got third […]
