Not Your Typical Butterfly Kisses
Instead of “butterfly kisses” I am receiving snot-filled smooches. But I am not complaining at all. I love every slobbery kiss, although I wouldn’t mind doing without the mucous.
Adrianna has a cold right now that has her nose running with a constant drip. This doesn’t stop her from offering up kisses to her Daddy and I though. In fact, she has been almost a little more affectionate than usual. Not wanting to discourage any of her sweet kisses that are so freely and sweetly offered, I try to aim for her cheek or lower lip. Since that doesn’t completely help, I wait until she looks the other way before wiping my mouth of the snot-smooch. Sweet girl. I think it is pretty much guaranteed that I will be catching this cold after these recent displays of affection.
A new bedtime routine we have now is tucking her bear into bed and under the covers. I will lay him down and cover him up with a blanket and gently pat him and say, “Night Night, Bear.” Then, she will wrap her arms around him and lay down so I can cover her up too. Then I gently stroke her cheek and stroke her hair back from her forehead as she looks up at me with her big, blue eyes. As I leave the room, I give kisses and say, “Night Night.” The past couple nights she hasn’t even wished me, “Nigh Nigh” back but has simply gone right to sleep. She is really spoiling us with how well she goes to bed. Does this mean our next child is going to be a terror that never sleeps?

Im constantly surprised at how fast our babies are growing. She sounds like such a big girl. Recently Ethan has been carrying his soccer ball under his arm to go places and looks like a regular 10 year old out to play ball. I have to do a double take to recognize him. Then he’ll put the ball down and take a few steps backwards, run toward the ball, kick it as hard as he can and yell, Gooooooooal! He’s so spanish it’s not even funny.
What a cutie! I can’t wait to see her again, she seems to be growing up so fast! Love you!
