Baby Fever
My sister Cindy, who is pregnant with twins, is about ready to pop. She has been on bed rest at the hospital for the past couple days due to some complications with preeclampsia / high blood pressure. The doctor was saying for awhile that the babies would come the first week of August, but they have continued to stay put. This is a good thing of course, but I know Cindy is anxious for it to all be done. I remember those final weeks of pregnancy and can empathize, although having two must compound the anxiousness.
I just got a call from my mom that they are inducing labor right now. Looks like I will get to meet Layla and Aidan really soon. I need to get my bags packed for a trip up to Wyoming. It sounds like tomorrow is the day!
For more baby news, my brother-in-law and his wife are expecting their first child in January. Greg and I are really excited about the arrival of this first Reimer cousin. Jess sent out a picture of her 18-week belly today – so cute! My coworker and I ooohed and aaahed over it quite a bit.
I am afraid that I am going to catch this baby fever. Uh oh. I am not sure I want to go there yet. Maybe helping Cindy with her twins for awhile will get that out of my system when I am reminded how much work newborns are (and how little they let you sleep.) Although it could also have the opposite affect as newborns, for all the work they can be, are really hard to resist.
Greg, be warned.
