I really miss being part of a good choir. I am listening to this song (on my iPod of course!) that our choir recorded back in my Grace days. We sound so good! I loved the songs we did, especially the ones in Latin like this one. *sigh* I also miss my choir friends. We would just break out into song no matter where we were – I loved that.

On another note (no pun intended), the baby is far enough along that she can hear and respond to sound, rhythm and melody. I think about that often now when I talk or when I sing. I like to think that I am singing to her. I hope she likes it!

Okay, what we REALLY are going to be busy doing tonight is watching the new EXTENDED version of LOTR – Return of the King. For those of you who are living under a rock and do not know, it was released today on DVD. Greg went at lunch to pick up our very own copy. I guess it has like 50 or so extra minutes included – I cannot wait!

We have heard a lot of positive things about the show Alias which is created by the same people as Lost, the show which we have been watching religiously since it first aired this fall. So, we rented the first couple disks of the first season from Netflix, and we weren’t disappointed – what a great show! We quickly added the DVDs for the remainder of the first season as well as the 2nd and 3rd seasons to our queue. So if you call us in the evenings and we don’t answer the phone, you will know why. We will be busy trying to catch up on this show before the next season starts in January (or we’ll be watching Lost).

Well, we finally got our ultrasound yesterday. The baby looks healthy and is very active, moving ar0und a lot. The lady doing the ultrasound said the baby looks like a girl or is a “very sneaky boy.” When she pointed out what she was going off of to make her determination of the sex, I could see why the baby looks like a girl too. So we are probably 85% sure that she is a girl. I guess we can start picking out girl names and go shopping now! Plus, this whole thing seems so real now after seeing her. We put her ultrasound pics in our photo gallery.

When we got there, they didn’t have an appointment for us though. I was so disappointed that I couldn’t help but start crying. (Pregnancy really does screw up your emotions!) I was already disappointed about not getting an ultrasound at my doctor’s appt, that to have my hopes dashed twice when I had looked SO forward to this was just too much. Greg actually thought it was kinda funny though; we had just watched the Seinfeld episode where Jerry is dating this girl that cries all the time. She cried when she dropped her hotdog on the ground, at movies, etc. So he thought it was funny that the very next day his wife would cry at the drop of a hat and tried to do the whole fake “There, there” comforting that Jerry did in the episode. At least the radiology office was able to squeeze us in for an appointment or I would have been a mess.

Today for Sunday school, our church chartered 3 buses to take the entire church to different nursing homes to sing carols. I am really glad we went along. I really got choked up when I saw how thankful the people in the homes were. It was especially hard in the Alzheimer’s wing for me, thinking of my Grandma and Grandpa Franks who were in this type of wing and all. They were so responsive though – many were mouthing the words along with us or clapping, even if they were clapping to their own beat. One lady even followed us as we walked along the corridor (still singing) to the next wing. I thought that was a cool thing for our church to do. I think it was more rewarding for us than for those we were singing for.

We were rear-ended today on Sheridan at a stoplight on the overpass over Hwy-36. Thankfully the car behind us was simply starting to go from a stopped position so the bump wasn’t bad at all. The lady followed us to the nearest parking lot and the vehicle inspection only yielded a few scratches on our rear bumper. Greg thinks we can buff the scratches to make them look better. We are so thankful that it wasn’t worse and that the lady was honest, so we probably won’t pursue anything further, as the scratches really are pretty minor. I was proud of how Greg handled the whole thing. He was really polite to the lady and also very thorough (collecting her information just in case and checking to make sure all our rear lights still worked, etc).
