Crying Baby and Chloe’s Contribution
I was peacefully sleeping last night at about 1:00 a.m. when Adrianna’s cries split the air. Loud, screaming cries to let me know that she was not feeling too well. I hate this whole teething thing. So I groggily stumble out of bed to go to her room. I brought her back to my room so I could nurse her, hoping that it would help soothe her. It didn’t. I picked her back up and started making my way back to her room for the baby tylenol.
As I was leaving my room, I noticed Chloe jumping into our bed. No big deal; the dogs pretty much always sleep with us and Molly had been slumbering with me for a couple hours already. So I didn’t think anything of it.
I made my way back to my room. I start to slip my foot under the covers, whereupon I feel warm wetness. ARGH. My first thought is that one of the dogs peed in our bed. Rare, but it has happened from time to time. I pull back the covers to reveal gross, chunky, brown dog puke. A lot of it. Keep in mind that Adrianna is still screaming crying this whole time while I hold her. So it is 1:00 a.m., I am exhausted from 4 nights in a row already of a teething baby giving me little rest, I have an unhappy baby crying in my ear, and now my foot is covered in dog puke.
I lose it. I call to Greg, who is thankfully still awake, and he cleans up the puke while I wash my foot and take Adrianna in another room to administer her medicine. Chloe was promptly spanked and put in her kennel downstairs. I know, it isn’t really fair to spank a dog when she couldn’t help it that she wasn’t feeling well, but we were so angry that she had jumped in our bed only to puke the whole contents of her belly into it. If she would have puked on the floor, no spanking would have been warranted and she only would have had the kennel to contend with.
Today, all is back to normal. Well, Adrianna is still fussy, but other than that, Chloe is fine and all is forgiven. I even let her take a nap with me this morning.

[…] Greg searched high and low. Well, mainly low since Chloe is long of body and short of leg. No eggs or even eggshells were to be found. Worried that Chloe had eaten the other two eggs, shell and all, he put her into her kennel in case she got sick. We didn’t want another puke mess to clean up. We were also worried about how eating eggshells would affect her digestive system or the expelling of the eggs later. […]
