Teething baby = No sleep
Adrianna has been experiencing the pains of teething. For the past two nights it has caused her to be up crying at pretty much every hour of the night. The only thing that seems to soothe her is being held (while I stand and bounce her) or nursing. Neither one is a great option for me, since they both require that I not get much sleep. I tried holding off on both of those options, as I don’t want her to get into the habit of requiring either of them in order for her to get back to sleep. We tried teething toys, her paci, a cold washcloth to suck on, anbesol, and baby pain reliever. None seemed to help for very long, if at all. So last night, being completely exhausted and frustrated at the lack of sleep and thinking ahead to my having to be at work at 7:00 a.m., I finally gave in and brought her to bed with me. This way, she was able to nurse whenever she woke up and needed the soothing. It did help tremendously. It meant that I wasn’t able to sleep really soundly or comfortably, but at least I was able to sleep a little.
How I long for one full night’s rest. Just 8 hours. That’s all I ask.
