Back from Breckenridge

For our anniversary, we decided to drive up to Breckenridge on Saturday to hang out and also to see the snow sculptures. It was a nice afternoon, so we had a good time walking around the downtown area. Sorry Shad, we didn’t make it to Greta’s, but that was mainly because I don’t think I can eat ice cream now that I have this darn gestational diabetes. (We’ll find out for sure on Wednesday what my new diet will look like, but until then, we are being careful with the sweets.) We did stop in Dillon at a Pizza, Pub, and Brewery place for dinner though. I don’t remember the name of it, but the food was really good.

Our drive home was awful though. It had started to snow, and there were times where we were pretty much at a complete stop on I-70 for up to 45 minutes. So a drive that would normally only take an 1 1/2 hours took 5 hours. We were pretty frustrated and then tired once we got home. I guess that is what we get for calling Shad and Lynette (on our way up to Breckenridge) to brag about the awesomeness of living in Colorado.

    Amber,

Did you guys go to the Dam Brewery? I went there with several friends over Spring Break several years ago. I know it was in Dillon, and it was pretty popular. They sell shirts that say, “Get your own Dam Beer!” and stuff like that. We really liked it, and we got a lot of mileage–as I’m sure everyone does–out of the whole dam joke. Glad you had a good time.

lol, we had a condo right by the dam brewery. We never got to eat there though.. ya.. 5 hours sounds about right for awakening the wrath of Shad by taunting him 😉
i was so jealous for the entire day.. all day long i’m like “hey lynette.. i bet right now they’re going through Silverthorne.. hey right now i bet they’re near the columbine cafe.. hey right now i bet they’re near that toy store.” GRRR.
lol.. Hey.. i bet they’re stuck in the eisenhower tunnel for 2 hours. =)
Well.. we’re packing now.. starting anyway. more and more boxes are accumulating in the closet. We’ll be there soon.. and i’ll be happy to lift the traffic curse at that time. until then, you will not be able to make it through the mountains =)
