It was as if the author wrote it just for me. I listened to it over and over for the next 2 hours as I drove, crying and singing the whole time until my voice was hoarse.

I Run To You by Take No Glory
(click the title to listen to the song)

Right now I need You more, than I ever have before
Only You see who I really am, so I run to You
There are no words I can find, to describe this hurt inside
Only You can give me strength, so I run to You

On You my rock I’ll stand, when I feel like I’m crumbling
You promise You have a plan, so use this for Your glory

Please rescue me
I am drowning, do You even see?
Oh Lord, please comfort me
Where are You? That day, and for a couple weeks afterward, I was stuck on stanzas where the words are about feeling abandoned and drowning. The final lines were very difficult to sing. But as time goes by, my counseling sessions continue to help me navigate my conflicting emotions, and through the wonderful support and love from friends and family, I find those lines are getting a little easier to sing. Not every day, but I am glad for the flicker of hope and the better days nonetheless.

BTW – you can download Take No Glory’s entire album at their website for FREE – takenoglory.com.

I first heard this song play on a solo road trip to Wyoming last month as I was facing a couple of difficult events.
