Adrianna had her first dentist appointment on Friday. We took her to a Pediatric Dentist that I had seen recommended on a local online message board. I was very pleased with them. I could tell that they cared about and catered to kids. There was a big play room, complete with toys and dress up clothes, in the waiting room that was decorated like a castle. That was great; I could fill out the new patient paperwork while Adrianna enjoyed herself.<\/p>\n
Then the dental hygienist <\/span>came and led us to a room where we watched a cartoon about Dudley Dinosaur’s first visit to the dentist. Adrianna is big into dinosaurs these days, so it was perfect. Then it was time for her actual appointment to begin.<\/p>\n We had been discussing the dentist with Adrianna for several days prior to her appointment in order for her to have an idea of what to expect. I think she was actually looking forward to going.<\/p>\n The hygienist and the dentist were so good with Adrianna from the start. Right away, the hygienist showed Adrianna what she would be doing by demonstrating first on a doll. Then she let Adrianna touch all the tools and explained what they were for. Adrianna sat next to me and took it all in; solemnly nodding her head whenever she was asked a question. I think she was a little shy and maybe a little nervous, but she was also very brave and I was so proud of her.<\/p>\n Adrianna’s teeth are in great condition. There are a few spots on the molars where the enamel didn’t form all the way, but the dentist said her case is mild. Her teeth are pretty close together which *may* indicate a need for braces someday. But no cavities!<\/p>\n All in all, it was a positive experience. I am so glad we found this Pediatric Dentist.
