We took our first trip to Disneyland back in March. As I was going to start scrapping the many photos this past week, I realized I didn’t have any kits that were exactly what I was looking for in the colors I was looking for. Specifically, the red of my daughter’s Minnie Mouse dress and the black of Mickey’s ears. So, I decided to make my own papers using the exact colors from my photos and it evolved into a mini-kit that I would love to share with you.

Here is my round four submission to the designer contest at Stone Accents Studio. This round we were able to show our own style, choosing our theme and color palette. How fun! I chose “Tea Party” because I have a 3yo daughter with some Tea party pictures to scrap.

Most of the papers and many of the embellishments are generic enough to be used for other layouts too. I think versatility is important for any kit I design or purchase.

This kit includes 18 papers and 40 embellishments. (Not all embellishments are shown on this preview.)

So I have made it through to round 3 of the designer contest at Stone Accents Studios. Looking at the other kits for this round, it is going to be REALLY tough this go round. We had both a theme (heritage) AND a color palette of browns that we had to follow. This is my first heritage kit, and I was a little worried about it at first. I think my kit turned out more vintage than heritage, but oh well. I am proud of it. My favorite pieces are the papers (always!), the globe, and the suitcases.

This time our challenge was to design a kit using a specified color palette and include 10-20 papers and 15-20 elements. And we only had a few days to get it done. Yikes!

My entry is called “Rainy Days and Mondays”. I have had that Carpenters’ song in my head for days as a result. LOL.

I know, I know, it has been too long since I have given away a freebie. But I have one for you today!!

I have entered a design contest over a Stone Accents Studio. With September 11th coming up, the theme we were required to use was “Our Heroes”.

I wanted to make the kit so that it met the theme requirements but could also be used for other layouts or events as well. I like my kits to be versatile. I signed up to be a part of Funky Playground Design‘s Designer Apprentice Program last week. As a part of this “Teacher’s Pet” contest, we all had to design a mini-kit with a theme and with items we consider to be “trendy”. Well, my favorite trend right now is the doodled look to paper and elements, so that is what I tried to go with here.

I am pretty excited about this program. It is a mentoring program and a contest all wrapped up into one. Everyone who doesn’t make it past the first round of the design contest can still participate and receive feedback, tips, and tutorials, which is just what I need! I am up against some very talented designers, many whose names I recognized as popular designers already, so I don’t know how far I will make it. I am glad to be along for the ride though.

This kit is in honor of my daughter’s graduation to a “big-girl bed” last weekend and also being almost potty trained. Thus the bed and potty chair being a part of the kit as well as the kit name.

So after several late nights of experimenting with brushes and skimming the net for tutorials, I have finally finished my fourth kit. Once again, my creativity leaves me when it comes to thinking up a name for it, so…say hello to No Reimer Reason’s Kit #4. LOL. It was inspired by a picture of my daughter and her brown teddy bear, cuddled up under a blue blanket, hence the blues and browns, but since it didn’t actually include any teddies I didn’t feel right incorporating those into the title.

This kit is rather large, so I wasn’t able to include all of the embellishments in the preview. It includes:

Okay, now for the REAL reason you all are here…the free digital scrapbooking kit!

This kit was the brainchild of Beth over at Unmommy.com. UnMommy.com is a website for, yes, Moms. But at the same time it isn’t ALL about mom stuff. I found the site from my Google Analytic Stats (someone had put a referral link to one of my previous templates) so I went to check it out last week. It has a small forum population (which I like) compared to some out there since it is so new, and they have a digital scrapbooking section that I have been frequenting the site in recent days.

Anyways, Beth and I are both learning the how to design kits so she asked me to collaborate on one. The colors we chose are based on the available “skins” to the UnMommy.com site.
