Free Digital Scrapbook Template – #6

I have another free template for you. This one is another one of my favorites so far. I LOVE multi-picture templates. In fact, I may reuse this one myself since I have over 200+ pictures from my daughter’s birthday party last weekend to wade through and scrap. I am sure I won’t scrap all of them, but I also know that single photo layouts just won’t do!

Here is the layout I created the template from:

Website Banner Design

A friend of mine is starting a new business and she asked if I would create a banner for her new website. I was pretty excited and nervous; other than creating such things for myself, that is new territory for me. But I decided to dive in and try.

Here is the finished result:

I had to make the image smaller to fit in my blog, so go visit Jen’s new website at Paper Crafting with Jen to see the full result.

From designing this banner, I learned that Photoshop brushes are AMAZING. I had not used them much prior to this project, but now I see how versatile they can be. I think I could use them to design overlays and background papers for digital scrapbooking too. Hooray for learning new things. ๐Ÿ™‚

Another Layout using one of my Templates

Here is another wonderful layout using one of my templates. Didn’t her page turn out so cute and sassy, just like her embellishments state?

Caught, Catch, and Catched

Adrianna was playing with one of the balloons from her birthday party and excitedly said, “I catched it!” Greg told her that instead of saying “catched” that she could say “caught” and “I caught it.” So she threw threw the balloon back up in the air and said, “I didn’t caught it.”

Well, I was going to do a blog posting last night and upload the pics from her birthday party, but I went to bed at 6 and slept for about 14 hours. I guess I needed to recuperate from our busy weekend. I will try to post something later today.

Layouts Using my Designs

Wow, I can say “designs” now that I have done a kit too. hehe.

It is so exciting to see something you have created in use by others. And I have really enjoyed seeing how everyone’s pages turn out so unique even when using the same kit or template.ย  Anyways, here we go:

My First Digital Scrapbook Mini-Kit

I have created my first digital scrapbooking mini-kit. Wow, that is a lot of work and time! Since it is my first one, I had to frequent some tutorials and I am sure it will get faster if I continue to play around with photoshop. It was exciting to learn some new techniques, so hopefully my future kits can include more embellishments.

Here is the layout I made with the kit. I will probably make a template out of it eventually too.
March 2008 Scrapbook Page

This kit was designed at 12×12 PSD. All files should be 300 PPI. I wasn’t able to come up with a fun, unique name like so many designers do. I think I hit the peak of my creativity. ๐Ÿ™‚

Kit contains:

  • 5 Background papers
  • 2 pieces of Ric-rak
  • 3 buttons
  • 6 Flower/eyelets
  • 4 Stars (2 with stitching)

Grace Chorale

The Grace Chorale was in our area today so we drove out to see them perform. I only got misty-eyed a couple times throughout the performance as I remembered all my fun times in the chorale 8+ years ago. They did do two songs that we did during my years in Chorale, and it was amazing to me how well I could remember the lyrics as well as the alto portions of the songs that I haven’t heard for years.

And they all looked SO young! Greg mentioned to me that even students that started after we left have come and gone from college already. Yes, I feel a little bit old tonight. But we did see some familiar faces. I got to see Tara, who started attending Grace towards the end of my college career (she works in admissions now) and Dr. Z is still the conductor and Karen (the pianist) and her husband were there too, so I was very happy to see them again.

Many of my wonderful memories from college involved my time in Chorale or The Ambassadors, and most of my friends were involved with one or both of those musical groups. As I watched the chorale sing tonight, flashes of memories would pass through my mind. It was weird; I was totally paying attention to the concert, but all I could hear were the voices of all MY friends singing from back then.

Song Modification

Adrianna loves to sing. She will sing the songs she knows or she will make up her own. Sometimes her songs will be of her own creation in both words and melody, but sometimes she will take an existing tune and just modify the words. Like the song she sang at dinner tonight. See if you can recognize the original song.

Happy Booger to you.
Happy Booger to you.
Happy Booger to you-oo.
Happy Booger to you!

Overheard at our house today

As Greg is changing a poopy diaper:

Greg: This is a little poop. Do you want to do the rest in the potty?
Adrianna: No, I don’t need to go potty.
Greg: Remember, if you go poop in the potty, you get some “birthday” cake
Adrianna: Daddy, I gotta go potty.

And the continued conversation in the bathroom when no poop would come:

Adrianna: Daddy, maybe the poop’s getting tired.

Catch Them Underwears

One of Adrianna’s favorite songs is “Teddy Bears’ Picnic.” There is a line in the song that goes, “Watch them, catch them unawares…” When Adrianna sings it though, it always brings a smile to my face because she sings it, “Watch them, catch them underwears.”

Anyways, get ready for an entire post about underwear. That is the exciting news at our house today. It all started with the following conversation:

Adrianna: Mommy, did you go poop in your diaper?
Me: No, I don’t wear diapers. I wear underwear.
Adrianna: Did you go pee in your diaper?
Me: No, I go pee in the potty so I wear panties, which are also called underwear. You wanna see Mommy’s underwear?
Adrianna: Yes!….Oh…
Me: If you start going poop and pee in the potty all the time, you can wear underwear too!
Adrianna: Oh!

Then she is quiet for a moment as she ponders the thrill of wearing underwear. She hops off her stool and runs into the bathroom, shouting back that she has to go potty. Once she goes, she excitedly announces that she is ready to wear underwear.

So, we put on a brand new pair. (This is our 2nd attempt. The 1st attempt a few weeks ago only lasted maybe 20 minutes.) She got to pick them out and was very excited, so I told her to run into the office to show Daddy her new panties. She then proceeded to ask if she could see “Daddy’s panties.”Greg made sure to explain that boys wear underwear, not panties.

When Adrianna wears diapers, I like to pat her diapered bottom and say “diaper butt!” (Because who doesn’t love patting a cute little diapered butt!) When we commented tonight that she didn’t have a diaper butt, Adrianna made the wise connection and shouted, “Underwear butt!”

She did really good and we even got brave and let her wear her new panties out to dinner tonight. We brought along a spare outfit just in case. She had a large glass of chocolate milk.

After we got home, I let her watch WonderPets and I don’t know if she just forgot, was distracted, or what, but she let loose with the now-processed chocolate milk. Oh well. It was a good start.

Digital Scrapbook Template – #5

My sister, Karen, has been hinting around that she is ready for a new template so I guess I had better post one. This is another simple one with room for lots of pictures. The layers can also be swapped out for different swatches of papers, elements, or used for journaling.

Update: This template has been moved into my Store and can be purchased for only $1.00.
